Fire

The Gallery maintains a fire escape and equipment plan. Please see plan.

ON DISCOVERING A FIRE.

1. RAISE THE ALARM By operating the nearest alarm call point and alerting those in the Gallery.
2. CALL THE FIRE SERVICE Dial 999 and ask for the FIRE
3. CONSIDER TACKLING THE FIRE using available appliances but without taking risks

ON HEARING THE ALARM.

1. EVACUATE ALL SPACES of the BUILDING : All persons not involved in calling the fire brigade or dealing with the fire, should IMMEDIATELY EVACUATE (TO EAST STREET)by any marked exit.
2. DO NOT STOP TO COLLECT PERSONAL BELONGINGS.
3. DO NOT RE-ENTER THE BUILDING UNTIL THE FIRE SERVICE SAY IT IS SAFE TO DO SO.
4. MUSTER IN EAST STREET, NEAR THE RYE CASTLE MUSEUM

REMEMBER

1. Keep unused internal doors at all times
2. Note position of the fire exits, fire alarm call points and fire extinguishers (See plan)
