In 2014, Dave McKean was chosen by Apple as one of their 30 key creatives representing 30 years since the launch of the Apple Mac. He has illustrated over eighty books with authors as diverse as Richard Dawkins, Heston Blumenthal, Ray Bradbury, John Cale and Neil Gaiman, and has written several ground-breaking and award winning graphic novels including Black Dog: The Dreams of Paul Nash, a 14-18 Now Foundation commission featured at Tate Britain. He has directed three feature films and several shorts, created music, theatre and exhibitions around the world, and is currently working on his own Raptor, a book about political monsters, as well as a project for the Louvre, and illustrations for Stephen King and Dostoyevsky.
He lives just outside Rye.
